Pro20 Cricket World Cup is here!

The 2009 ICC Pro20 cricket world cup starts today with England playing against the Netherlands in the tournament opener. I'm looking forward to the Australia vs West Indies game on Saturday, somehow i feel this is going to be a cracker.

At this point i'm getting nervous i would love South Africa to win this tournament and hope this doesn't end in dissapointment like all previous world cup tournaments. Herschelle Gibbs holds the key and looks in form. South Africa take on Scotland on Sunday. Watch this space!

This weekends matches and prediction:

Friday 5 June
England v Netherlands - (England)

Saturday 6 June
New Zealand v Scotland (New Zealand), Australia v West Indies (West Indies), Bangladesh v India (India)

Sunday 7 June
South Africa v Scotland (South Africa) , England v Pakistan (England)

  1. South Africa are favorites to win India and South Africa in the final i think. Australia not at full strength after Andrew Symonds misbehaved again

  2. Yeah Andrew Symonds did it again, I believe they should not pick him again. What an Idiot! That is the end of his career, maybe we'll see him in the ipl only. Australia will win again!

  3. India will be hard to beat. Basically SA have the best team and their fieldwork can not be beaten. It all depends on who plays the best on the day.

  4. After the first rounds i would say India, West Indies and South Africa are favorites. South Africa's fielding are superb and with the bowling variety and batting depth they make a formidable team. But like you say anything can happen on the day.
